✦ Kurosawa, Yuki | 黒沢, 雪 ✦

☼ Kurosawa 黒沢 (black swamp), Yuki 雪 (snow) ☼

✦ Age: 16 years old
✦ Date of Birth: December 17
✦ Year: First Year
✦ Gender: Male
✦ Height: 165 cm
✦ Weight: 56.5 kg
✦ Club(s): Literature Club President | Tennis Club Member
✦ Sexual Orientation: Bisexual

✦ Personality ✦

☼ cheerful ; optimistic ; friendly ; insightful | absorbed ; careless ; foolish ; dark ☼

✦ Positive Traits:

     • cheerful - Yuki is a rather cheerful individual, hardly (if ever) caught in a sour mood. He comes off as good-natured in general and his occasional profound words seem trustworthy. Though he knows the true coldness of reality, he refuses to act in any other way than as if sunshine poured over earth for eternity.
     • optimistic - Yuki has a very bright view on life. Regardless of if he knows someone or not, he's bound to at least try and cheer up sad people. Sometimes, this goes a little too far: the optimism carries over so greatly that he can be punched in the face and still tolerate people.
     • friendly - self-explanatory, Yuki is very approachable due to his cheerful nature and he is naturally drawn towards other people, feeling empty in their absence. This is why Yuki prides himself in making friends with even the least approachable of people.
     • insightful - while this is not a trait that Yuki prides himself in particularly, his insight allows him to see the truth through most lies and detect underlying feelings of others as they speak. It's not something he ever points out or acknowledges that he notices.

✦ Negative Traits:

     • absorbed - occasionally, an activity in Yuki's life (ex: a good book, a tennis match) will require such a great amount of his attention that the world becomes distant and he loses sight of everything around him except for the one activity he is devoting his attention to. This sometimes causes him to completely disregard the presence or words of others.
     • careless - even though he understands that some things in life just can't be put off, Yuki often finds himself procrastinating and not caring for things (schoolwork) to the extent that he should. Often, he is strangely immune to the effects of negative influences on his life; he will often act unaffected no matter what has happened, which occasionally comes off as rude when he doesn't mean it at all.
     • foolish - he isn't the wisest. Sometimes his actions show immaturity, and he's... well, immature. He won't risk his life or do anything particularly harmful, but in general, he holds up an image of doing things that don't quite make sense.
     • dark - despite the fact that the rest of his personality is a bubbly storm of positive energy, Yuki can actually have a strange "dark side" that is near impossible to provoke. Sometimes, it comes out subconsciously, causing him to act mildly creepy.

✦ Biography | Story ✦

     • Elementary School / Childhood:

Yuki was born as the only child in a semi-prosperous family who lived on a semi-isolated large plot of land. Since the house and grounds were huge, he was not able to find his own way around at a young age and never saw his neighbors. His extended family lived in Tokyo, so his parents were the only ones around. He wasn't particularly lonely; his mother was always around to take care of him when she wasn't out dancing and his father was a stay-at-home author.

His father taught him how to play different sports, and he took a particular interest in the ones that involved rackets. In fourth grade, he joined a children's tennis club where he finally met boys his age and learned teamwork in sports with them. Once fifth grade started, he tried to teach himself how to swim in the lake by the grounds but ended up nearly drowning. Because of this, he became considerably more dependent and refused to approach water until his mother taught him how to swim.

     • Middle School:

Upon entering middle school, Yuki was given new responsibilities, including chores and homework. At first, his natural talent for learning caused him to win prestigious awards and scholarly achievements, but the work drove him mad. After spending hours in the library reading novels--an endless supply of impossible tales, tragedies, comedies, fantasies-- the tension was released. He decided to just let it go and worked considerably less. His grades dropped, but he didn't care. No longer would his days be spent holed up alone.
After his first semester, Yuki's cousin Takumi moved into the town from Tokyo. While Takumi was a year older than him, he discovered that he was not very strong-willed. He'd drag Takumi into social situations. Takumi never seemed to mind. Yuki would be there for Takumi when Takumi's mother fell ill.
Yuki also took up violin, which he evidently possessed an extraordinary lack of talent for. Still, Yuki refused to stop playing it and managed to improve his skills a little.

     • Break before attending Kodaiki Academy:

Even though the days of near-drowning and stress had passed, Yuki was still hopelessly attached to his parents. Knowing that he'd never be able to take care of himself by the time college rolled around, Yuki's parents found the closest boarding school, which turned out to be Kodaiki Academy and decided to send him there.

✦ Relationships ✦

Hamanori, Hitomu | Tomu-kun | Hitomu is whom Yuki considers to be his best friend. The two met one day when it was raining, and Yuki eventually gifted him his own book of haiku as a holidays present. Yuki thinks Hitomu is very kind and sweet all of the time, which is why Yuki particularly likes to be in the company of Hitomu.

Kurosawa, Takumi | Takumi-toko | Takumi is Yuki's cousin whom he's looked after since childhood. Though Takumi is older and generally more mature than Yuki, Yuki finds himself looking after his older cousin because of Takumi's shy nature. Takumi is also perhaps the only person who can quickly provoke Yuki into his "dark" state.

Fumiyo, Sonomi | Sono-chan | Sonomi is the vice-president of the literature club whom Yuki stumbled across at a train station some morning. She's very strong-willed and seems to think that she doesn't need friends, which is why Yuki's goal is to get her to recognize him as one. Since he always wants to make friends with everyone, no matter how cold, seeing Sonomi alone really bothers him.

Oka, Shion | Shi-kun | Shion is was Yuki's roommate. The two don't often meet and Yuki knows very little about him, but Yuki thinks that Shion is very pretty. :new: Shion was left the group! Yuki is awaiting a new roommate. ;;
